Are We There Yet?

No, we're not there yet but....but....but....
we are HALF WAY! !

Today we are in Sahagun. With Mona's foot problems we decided to do something different today and instead of walking we rode in a horse drawn wagon! The stretch today was a long one with little variation in scenery and at least 17 km of no shade. We had a great time riding along and greeting pilgrims who were walking. A number of them asked the driver to stop so they could ride too.
It's not snow, just some pretty white fuzz from trees that blows around, gathers in snowball-like clumps and makes my eyes red!

Here comes our ride!

 A field of poppies.
This 8 year old from South Korea is walking the Camino with her mom. She helped drive the wagon!
Tonight we are staying in the Monastery of Santa Cruz, home to at least 11 Benedictine Sisters who offered a prayer service and blessing for us tonight. Sleep well!

  1. Some beautiful pictures, Francine! Looks like you've had a pair of wonderful traveling days to enjoy the sights and the sounds. Are you all looking forward to a night in Leon? I hope it doesn't take you too far out of your way.
